Which Apple Watch should you buy this Black Friday?

Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 8 in September 2022. Very little changed year-over-year, but that doesn't make this product any less desirable. The new sensors used for Crash Detection and ovulation notifications are basically used exclusively for those features. Most of the features Apple showed off when announcing the new Apple Watch belong to watchOS and are not exclusive to the updated model.

Anyone in the market for an Apple Watch that doesn't own a Series 7 should consider the Apple Watch Series 8.

For customers who don't need the latest and greatest technology, the Apple Watch SE 2 is in its second generation with a new S8 SiP processor, Crash Detection, and a lower starting price. It is built with a budget in mind, with limited health tracking and a basic feature set. It is the new budget Apple Watch model that replaces the Apple Watch Series 3. Retail Apple Watch SE 2 prices start at $249, although discounts are often available.
